They've definitely involved love triangles before, as I've pointed out, but Owen and Cristina's reaction to this third addition is completely different. I'm not saying there ISN'T another way to explore this relationship, but I don't find Teddy to be the problem; their insecurities are. Teddy would be gone by now if it wasn't for Owen (for bringing her here) and Cristina (for asking her to stay). In that sense, I don't blame Teddy for any of this, but if you want to get to the core of things, it's the writers' decision.

I will also say that some of the best moments in the last two episodes have involved Teddy for me, so I don't think the writers are making a poor choice here. I don't think they can keep this triangle up for long, but I have to give it more time before I write the whole scenario off.

Hopefully this does occur, as Kim Raver has been promoted to a series regular. Sooner or later she will have to stand on her own two feet and we'll see then whether she has what it takes to capture our attention.

I agree with your comment, but not what you wrote in your review. Yes, Teddy did bring Cris's issues to the forefront, but I still feel there were many other, more interesting ways to have them examine their relationship. With actors like KMK and SO, the possibilities are endless and it seems a waste to rely on the old triangle storyline - no matter how "different" the writers keep telling us it is.

Not necessarily, but I think having Teddy around is a way for Cristina and Owen to examine their relationship and understand how much they value each other. Consider, what if a version of Teddy was around when Burke and Cristina were dating? Perhaps they could've reached the same conclusion without going so far as the wedding. I fully understand why Teddy is there and yes, I buy it.

Loved your review, up until the last 2 lines re:Cristina/Owen. They were fascinating last season, and it did not require the addition of Teddy to make them fascinating. What would be fascinating is for Teddy to realize that Owen is just not that into her.

Cristina and Owen were hot long before Teddy Altman showed her sorry self at Seattle Grace. Their passion has nothing to do with her. Seems like you are buying Shonda's line that we should all LOVE Teddy.
