Mainly, I was impressed with how they were able to carry over several storylines while introducing a new mystery. However, Season 3 feels very different from season 2, so hopefully those that didn't like season 2 can latch onto a new season with enthusiasm. Thinking back to then, it seemed like a total reboot. It had the story thread of Patty's charity, which basically never got mentioned again, and Ellen was no longer naive. I don't know what you thought of season 2, but I hated it relative to the epic first season, and this episode hinted that season 3 will be a lot better than 2. By the way, great insight into the time shifts, I really hadn't noticed that difference, but now you mention it, it's very true.
