The Big Bang Theory 3×09 ‘The Vengeance Formulation’

What I like about this week's episode of The Big Bang Theory is that it sticks with something.  Usually, my beef with sitcoms is that there is rarely any follow-through.  'The Vengeance Formulation' actually brings back an old storyline and progresses it. The Wolowitz Spotlight The misdirected man rarely gets any shining moment.  However, thanks to a hefty bathtub scene with Katee Sackhoff and a surprisingly endearing relationship with newcomer Melissa Rauch (Bernadette), the episode prett...

Great Expectations of a Writer

This is something I struggle with all the time. When you figure out that life is more than a series of random events, you're left with one option: life happens for a reason--or at the very least--you have control of your future.  But, when you become aware of the fact, there's no turning back.  Every decision you make and every action you take, it's you.  That means you alone are responsible for the consequences as well. If I had the aptitude to be an accountant or some type of office work...

Grey’s Anatomy 6×10 ‘Holidaze’

If you're someone who finds Grey's Anatomy to be too depressing nowadays, you're in for a treat.  'Holidaze' is a rarity for the show in that it is happy.  Overwhelmingly happy and positive. The Holiday Spirit Yes, all the patients this week survives.  I'm not just talking about the flu, but major once-in-a-lifetime surgeries.  All in all, it is a good day for the patients and the doctors.  It's almost disorienting to see so much happiness splashed within a Grey's Anatomy episode, but it i...

Fringe 2×08 ‘August’

What is unique about this episode of Fringe is that sci-fi elements aside, 'August' is really tragic love story.  The show is not really known for its emotional impact, and given the focus on the Observers, the idea seemed even less likely.  But, does this episode deliver? The Course of History Given our very limited knowledge of the Observers (yes, there are more than one), the one thing that doesn't take much guessing is to assume they observe the course of history.  What they are lookin...

The Office 6×11 ‘Shareholder Meeting’

It is not sheer comedic brilliance that makes 'Shareholder Meeting' such a memorable episode for The Office.  With knack for portraying the corporate climate with a fine eye, this episode is a hilarious rendition of that world with the ultimate corporate event: the shareholder meeting. Knight in Shining Armor While this would've deviated from the realism of the issue, I was hoping to see Oscar or Michael save the day during this massively awkward meeting.  Then again, in Michael's naive an...
