The Office 6×13 ‘Secret Santa’

Despite Michael's horrible tact, 'Secret Santa' is both a comedic and moving episode for The Office. Lost in Translation Although it's hard to judge Erin and Andy's chemistry at this point, the way their mutual miscommunication stalls their relationship is frustrating, hilarious and in an odd way, adorable.  Andy and Erin emulate the roadblocks of Jim and Pam in the earlier seasons, but with a very refreshing and juvenile take on the dynamic.  Andy's big gestures have always been an admira...

Glee 1×13 ‘Sectionals’

It's clear when show creator Ryan Murphy began Glee, 13 episodes was as far as he could wish for given the risky premise.  Luckily, as the show draws to a temporary end with 'Sectionals', it proves not only to be commercially viable but satisfactory in terms of storytelling as well. The Obstacles The episode proves very cathartic due to the Glee club's obstacles this week.  For one, Quinn's pregnancy secret is finally revealed, although not too graciously by Rachel.  It doesn't paint a goo...

Modern Family 1×10 ‘Undeck the Halls’

When you go for the sentimental 'awww' moments, things tend to get a little warm and gooey.  'Undeck the Halls' is the official 'aw' episode of Modern Family. Comedy or Drama?

Despite my healthy, versatile appetite for writing and its respective outcomes, I seem to have come across a hiccup. I've written dramas, science fiction, horror and even a dash of romance.  Nevertheless, I have always enjoyed comedy in all its glory.  I've even written spec scripts based on reputable sitcoms.  Still, when it comes to my own creation, something about comedy seems to slip my mind. I can't find the balance between the jokes and the emotional connection to the characters.  A ...

Better Off Ted 2×01 ‘Love Blurts’

Despite the awkward date for a season premiere, Better Off Ted deserves the attention for having a solid first season despite being screwed over by ABC.  Does the season premiere deliver the same promising reintroduction? The Evolution Many series, upon their debut season, change things up to better the series as a whole.  Compare the later seasons of The Office to its first season and the show is barely recognizable.  I have no qualm with this fact, but if the improvements are not legitim...
